Dislocated Workers
The Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin collaborates with businesses, educational institutions, local Job Centers and other resources to develop initiatives that improve the employability of workers in Wisconsin.
Rapid Response
When facing a layoff, it's important to know what options you have. From learning about the re-employment opportunities that are available and how to take advantage of them, to information about unemployment insurance and childcare, Rapid Response connects you with the resources you need to move forward.
Each year, we help thousands of people overcome dislocation and find a rewarding new career. Stop by your local Job Center or visit www.comeherefirst.org for resources and information to help you get started.
Career Pathways
Our Career Pathways strategy introduces a high-technology, high-touch worker preparation model. It includes skills assessment, career counseling, hard and soft skills training, job placement and continuing education. The result is better workers for better businesses and a better economy.
Training
We work in partnership with technical colleges, Job Centers, and Industry Partners to develop training specifically for dislocated workers. Training takes into consideration your existing skills and how they can be enhanced to regain employment in a high-wage, high-growth industry as soon as possible. Learn more about training at your local Job Center or visit www.comeherefirst.org.
Resources
It's never easy to lose a job. But, if you've been laid off or if you've lost your job because of a business closing, there are a number of dislocated worker resources at your disposal. We encourage you to take action. Create a plan for moving forward in your career and in securing your future.
