Access Point Grand Opening Makes the News

September 27, 2011

The Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin and local partners celebrated the grand opening of two new WorkSmart Access Points on Monday, September 26, 2011. Remarks were given by Mayor Paul Soglin, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi, Department of Workforce Development Deputy Secretary Reggie Newson, Dr. Bettsey Barhorst of Madison College, and Kaleem Caire of Urban League of Greater Madison. Ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held at the new sites: the Urban League of Greater Madison and Madison College-South, both located on South Park Street in Madison.

These newest service locations will give job seekers increased access to computers and Internet to search for jobs, work on résumés, apply for public assistance programs, get referrals to career training programs and services, and get connected to their local Job Center—all at the center of the South Madison community.

WKOW-TV (channel 27) featured video of the grand opening on their 6pm broadcast. Missed it? Click here to watch the video segment from the celebration.
