Schramm Receives Technical Education Champion Award

Pat Schramm, Executive Director of Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin, Receives Technical Education Champion Award

MADISON, WI/ http://matcmadison.edu/files/users/wbessette/Newsrelease_Schramm.pdf/ Patricia Schramm is the recipient of the 2011 “Technical Champion Award” from the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association. Schramm is the executive director of the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin.

The award recognizes an individual or organization for outstanding contributions to a local technical college district or system. Schramm is a strong supporter of Madison Area Technical College and the Wisconsin Technical College System. Here are some of her recent contributions:

• Chief author of the $5 million Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) grant to improve worker access to training and employers access to skilled workers

• A key partner in Madison College’s $2 million Community Based Job Training grant

• Supported Madison College’s successful U.S. Department of Education grant that resulted in the creation of the College’s Center for Adult Learning

Schramm will receive her award on November 3 at the District Boards Association meeting in Waukesha.
