DWD Secretary Perez Sets Stage for Wisconsin’s Workforce Strategy at Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin Meeting
Madison, WI -- Department of Workforce Development Secretary Manny Perez presented on the State's plans to further Wisconsin's workforce strategy at the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin's board meeting on March 22, 2011.
The Secretary focused his message on the priorities and strategies needed to anticipate and meet private sector labor needs and to drive economic growth. "Our [the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development's] vision is all about advancing Wisconsin’s economy through a leading workforce development system that attracts, creates, and retains jobs, and empowers individuals to become self-sufficient," said Secretary Perez. "To carry out this vision, there needs to be a strong alignment of Workforce Development Boards, economic development regions, technical colleges and chambers of commerce to ensure the quality of the workforce becomes a competitive advantage for the region."
