Middle College graduates first class; students gear up for summer internships
The Middle College Program, a piloted workforce development program sponsored by the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin, reached a major milestone this week.
Graduates celebrate dual-credit success
The program, which began in 2011, graduated its first senior class of students in the early weeks of June. Cheers were heard from across the region as the students celebrated the attainment of both their high school diplomas and technical college credits from Madison College. Over the past year, these students gained both classroom training and hands-on technical skills in areas of business technology, health care and industrial trades.
Students transition into summer internship phase
And the new graduates won’t be taking the summer off. Instead, many are gearing up for paid summer internships with local companies beginning in mid-June that will run through late August.
The Middle College Program will select and welcome its third cohort of students in fall 2012.
