    Education & Learning If you're looking to start or develop your career by furthering your education, we can help by identifying your skills and interests, aiding with tuition costs, connecting you to local apprenticeships, and providing other supportive services that can reduce any barriers preventing you from pursuing a degree or diploma. Postsecondary Education If you are looking for programs we can help fund, The Eligible Training Program List (ETPL) is a list of training programs that participants must use to select programs that are covered by WIOA. Additionally, TAA program participants are encouraged to use the ETPL when selecting TAA-funded training. You can search by program, institution name, or city. The WIOA and TAA programs are available through Wisconsin's job centers . *Please note that there may be limitations to the amount of financial assistance available to participants and the type of program WIOA and TAA will support. Apprenticeships We work with local employers and school districts to provide work-based learning opportunities for both adults and youth. Apprenticeships allow individuals to work and earn a wage while still receiving instructed classes to develop industry-related skills.     Learn how the ABA2 grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, is expanding and strengthening the Registered Apprenticeship (RA) system in South Central Wisconsin. Through public-private partnerships, this grant supports a variety of industries and individuals, promoting Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) as a valuable workforce development solution that turns training into meaningful, long-term careers. Pathways Home 4 (WPH4) Bridging the Gap Between Re-entry & Re-employment. Supporting Incarcerated Individuals Wisconsin Pathways Home 4 serves incarcerated individuals both prior to and post-release as they re-enter the workforce. This grant program is designed to support any individual incarcerated in a Wisconsin state prison or correctional institution and released into Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Marquette, or Sauk County. Pathways Home 4 Career Coaches will work with participants on job readiness skills such as career exploration and planning, interview prep, resume writing, and other general employment needs. Services provided can also include assistance with housing, food, transportation, and additional job training needs. *Program participants are referred to Pathways Home 4 Career Coaches by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

    Manufacturing Works Campaign When you step into a manufacturing facility today, you’ll quickly see that it’s not the same environment it may have been 50 years ago. The new era of manufacturing operates in technology-driven, innovative environments to produce materials and products demanded around the globe. Because of this new evolution, today’s manufacturing careers are much more diverse than those of generations before. The opportunities are high-tech and can range from electronics and mechanical engineering to software, IT and networking as well as industrial engineering, process engineering and project management. We’re here to show you that these cutting-edge skills and jobs are in-demand right here in South Central Wisconsin. Manufacturing Works Dane County Launched in October 2018, the Dane County Manufacturing Works Campaign aims to promote the rewarding and in-demand careers in manufacturing to 21 Dane County high schools through print materials, video and social media. Download the Manufacturing Works posters to see what career pathways are available locally in manufacturing as well as wages, skills needs, job availability and more. As part of the Dane County Manufacturing Works Campaign, Royle Printing, Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove and Saris hosted open houses at their facilities in April 2019. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the facilities and meet with staff to learn about manufacturing, products and careers.     Apprenticeships Apprenticeships are a postsecondary education option like college or university but with one big difference – apprentices only train part-time in a classroom. The rest is on a worksite while earning a good wage. As an apprentice, you’ll train hands-on from day one, which allows you to build skills while completing tasks on the equipment or software you’ll use everyday. Your Education Paid Job Gain knowledge from on-the-job learning and job-related classroom training. Apply your new skills on the equipment or software you’ll use everyday and earn a paycheck. Credentials Receive a nationally-recognized completion certificate at the end of your training. Apprenticeship Options Youth Apprenticeships Youth Apprenticeships (YAs) combine school and work-based learning. As a youth apprentice, you’ll continue learning in high school but you’ll also be completing courses related to the industry and working on-the-job at a local company. Pre -Apprenticeships Pre-Apprenticeships help individuals gain the necessary skills for Registered Apprenticeships. If you’re interested in entering an industry but don’t have the developed skills, Pre-Apprenticeships can connect you with an employer to begin working toward your career goals. Registered Apprenticeships Registered Apprenticeships (RAs) allow adults to learn in the classroom and on-the-job while employed at a local company.
