Construction Training, Inc.


Through WIRED’s investment, the START program expanded its pre-apprenticeship services from a single location in the Northport-Packers neighborhood to an additional location in the Truax Park neighborhood.  Program design includes the TABE – Testing for Adult Basic Education assessment, applied coursework, pre-employment skills and apprenticeship application assistance.  START specifically targets at-risk and under-represented populations.

Madison College


The Madison College Center for Adult Learners expands a prototyped model that leads students from basic skills to career pathway ladders through a series of short-term goals.  The platform design includes career and academic advising, contextualized foundational skills and Career Pathway Academies.  Collaborators include the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin (www.wdbscw.org) and the Fund for Improvement of Postsecondary Education.

Moraine Park Technical College


The WIRED investment in the Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) Skill Center is a short-term skills development and transition center that serves as an access point for dislocated, unemployed and under-employed workers in Dodge County.  The platform design includes case management, financial literacy, GED completion, and basic computer literacy.  Collaborators on platform design and implementation include the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin; Dodge County Human Services; Opportunities, Inc; UW-Extension; Kwik-Trip, Beaver Dam Hospital and the Dodge County Jail.

Southwest Wisconsin Technical College


The Southwest WI Technical College Skill Center increases the basic skill levels of dislocated workers and unemployed individuals through contextualized healthcare and manufacturing basic skills training.  The project combines video conferencing, online education, and skill center based adult basic education.  Collaborators include Blackhawk Technical College, Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board and Wisconsin Job Service.
